Sinopsis

En un pequeño pueblo en la campiña francesa, el gobierno debe decidir en sus múltiples reuniones que hacer cuando los muertos de los últimos 10 años, así como si nada, salen del cementerio perfectamente vivos (de ahí Les revenants: los que vuelven). No es que nadie se asuste: los muertos están calmos, los vivos ligeramente perturbados. Es un problema para el gobierno que no va más allá de los problemas que manejan en sus eternas reuniones. Para las familias de los muertos, ya es otra cosa. La esposa que ve regresar a su marido muerto, los padres que recuperan su hijo fallecido, el hombre mayor que ya no es más viudo, sufren de unos muertos entre perturbadores e indiferentes.

Sinopsis

Película dirigida por Mamoru Oshii utilizando la técnica de animación "Superlivemation", consistente en la digitalización de imágenes reales para su posterior deformación y edición y finalmente su uso en una técnica similar a marionetas de papel.

Inmediatamente después del fin de la Segunda Guerra Mundial en 1945, en el año 20 de la Era Showa, Tokyo intentaba emerger de entre los escombros. En un mercado negro en un pequeño rincón de Tokyo podía encontrarse un restaurante de tachigui soba (fideos de trigo sarraceno) de aspecto pobre.

Justo antes de la hora de cierre, aparece un hombre en el umbral. "Un Tsukimi (huevo crudo). Con soba". Este hombre no es otro que el legendario "Fast Food Grifter" (Timador de la comida rápida), "Tsukimi" Ginji. Tranquilo pero implacable, comienza con su estafa.

El tiempo avanza. En medio de los movimientos en contra del Tratado de Seguridad Anglojaponés (1960), se rumorea en las calles acreca de "Ketsune Croquette" O-Gin, una hermosa Fast Food Grifer, que ha desaparecido de repente. Vagando por los callejones durante los años del increíble crecimiento económico podemos encontrar a "Crying Inumaru". Después llega "Cold Tanuki" Masa, cuya escandalosa muerte hizo que la gente se diera cuenta de la existencia de Fast Food Grifters dentro de la sociedad japonesa. "Gyudon" Ushigoro acabó con una importante cadena de restaurantes de gyudon (arroz y ternera servidos en cuenco). Y no debemos olvidar a "Hamburger" Tetsu, que sorprendió a toda la industria de la comida rápida americana.

Los Fast Food Grifters son fantasmas que surgen y mueren con los cambiantes hábitos alimenticios. Son los héroes disidentes que dejaron sus nombres en la cara oculta de la cultura alimenticia con su mirada. Ahora su leyenda vuelve a nacer, más fuerte que nunca...
